Carol Forbish Obituary

Carol Lynn Cronin Forbish, of Janesville, Wis., and formerly of St. Petersburg, Fla., and Roanoke, Va., ended her earthly journey on Wednesday, April 14, 2010, after a brave battle with Lewy Body Dementia. Lynn was born on July 17, 1942, to Donald and Dorothy Cronin in Janesville and spent her childhood there. After attending the University of Wisconsin, Whitewater, Lynn began a journalism career that spanned 45 years. She was known as a creative journalist and a talented editor. Her passions for antiques, music, gardening, and animals were surpassed only by her love of travel. Remaining to cherish her memory are her children: son, Larry Forbish and daughter-in-law, Katie; and granddaughter, Katelyn; daughter, Tricia "Patty" Forbish; granddaughter, Gabrielle; her brothers and sisters, Doug Cronin and wife, Carole, Dale Cronin and wife, Kelle, Diane Cronin and husband, Dorset Hurley, Catherine Smoker, and Chris Cronin and wife, Dawn; as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. Preceding Lynn in death were her parents, Donald and Dorothy Cronin. A visitation will be held from 3 to 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday, April 20, 2010, at St. John Vianney Catholic Church, 1250 E. Racine St., Janesville, Wis., followed immediately by a Funeral Mass at 5:15 p.m. at the church. A reception will follow at the Best Western Janesville, 3900 Milton Ave. The family asks that in lieu of other expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to The Lewy Body Dementia Association, 912 Killian Hill Road, SW, Lilburn, Ga. 30047 or to the local SPCA. Schneider Apfel Schneider & Schneider Funeral Home is assisting the family. For online condolences and registry, please visit www.schneiderfuenraldirectors.com.

Lynn was a crackerjack copy editor and a valued colleage. She had a contagious laugh, a delightful candor and a positive/negative attitude toward life that kept her -- and others -- grounded. I missed having her in my life after she moved, and remember her with much fondness. My deepest sympathy goes to her family.
