Dani Elaine Smith Bowen

Dani Elaine Smith Bowen, of Bristol, Va., went home to be with the Lord on April 25, 2010, with her loved ones by her side. She was retired from Electrolux Company in Bristol. She was of the Baptist Faith. Dani loved her children, grandchildren, cats and flowers. She had a servant's heart and all that knew her loved her. Her husband, John Bowen and father, Elwood "Bud" Smith, preceded Dani in death. She is survived by her mother, Mary Angell Smith, of New Castle, Va.; daughter, Melissa Gallihar, of Big Stone Gap, Va.; son, Steven Hall, of Floyd, Va.; her long time companion, Curtis Nipper, of Glade Springs, Va.; Holly Lewellyn, of Bristol, which was like a daughter; and sister, Mildred Bostic, of New Castle, Va. Her grandchildren, Daniel Gallihar, Haley Gallihar, Anngel Gallihar, Rachel "Giggs" Gallihar, Lydia Gallihar, Jeffrey Hall and Jessie Hall, also survive her. The family will receive friends on Thursday, April 29, 2010, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Robinette Chapel Church in Big Stone Gap. A memorial service will follow at 7 p.m. in the church with Pastor Don Childress and the Rev. Barbara Farmer officiating. Final disposition will be private.
