Daniel Wayne Smals

Daniel Wayne Smals, 56, of Fairfield, died on Sunday, October 30, 2011, at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital. Born on January 11, 1955, in Indiana, a son of James Russel Smals and Betty Ramsey Smals. Mr. Smals was a member of the First Brethren Church in Buena Vista. Surviving are three sons, Jason D. Smals, Jarrod H. Smals, and Jerel B. Smals, all of Fairfield; siblings, Rebecca Lynn and husband, Galen, Paul Smals and wife, Donna, Teresa Evans and husband, Michael, Brian Smals and friend, Lori, and Miriam Winston and husband, Skip; four grandchildren, Daniel, Damien, Ashton, and Cayleigh; 12 nieces and nephews; and eight great-nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, November 2, 2011, at First Brethren Church with the Rev. James Smals and the Rev. Christian Becker officiating. Burial to follow at Concord Church of the Brethren Cemetery in Fairfield.
