David Franklin Williams, 85, of Salem, passed away Sunday, September 15, 2013. He was born in Austinville on September 25, 1927, the son of the late James Jefferson Williams and Roxie Riggins Williams. He had retired from the Cadillac Motor Company with 33 years of service, was a United States Army Veteran, World War II, a member of the Knights of Columbus # 1802 of Wyndot, Mich. He was a member of Jordans Chapel United Methodist Church; enjoyed dancing and watching wrestling. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Anna Marie Williams; infant sisters, Lottie May Williams; brothers, Floyd and James Williams.

Surviving are his wife, Faye Jean McPeak Farris Williams; son, David Franklin Williams, Jr. and wife, Mary, of Midlothian; grandchildren, David and Paige Williams, Brian and Allison Williams, Chris and Melissa Williams; three great-grandchildren; stepchildren, Ralph Farris, of Lone Ash, Debbie and Jerry Chambers, of Grahams Forge; stepgrandchildren, Eric Farris, Erika Farris, Bradley Whitaker; sisters-in-law, Margaret Williams, of Roanoke and Phyllis Williams, of Florida.
Funeral services will be held 7 p.m. Thursday, September 19, 2013, at the Reese Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Lee Thomas officiating. The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. until service time. A graveside committal service will be held 11 a.m. Friday, September 20, 2013, at Foster Falls Cemetery with Military rites being conducted by Grover King Post # 1115 of Hillsville.
