David Leaman Obituary

David Warren Leaman, 63, of Salem, passed away on Saturday, April 24, 2010. He was preceded in death by his parents, John Randolph, Jr. and Gladys Leaman. His surviving family includes his brothers, Randy Leaman and wife, Holly, of Windsor, Va., Jonathan Leaman and wife, Vanette, of Newport News, Va., and Timothy Leaman and wife, Jayne, of Paradise, Utah; and six nieces and nephews. A memorial service is planned for Sunday, May 2, 2010 at 2 p.m. in the John M. Oakey & Son Chapel in Salem. A period of visitation will follow. In lieu of flowers, donations in David's name may be made to the Roanoke Valley SPCA at 1340 Baldwin Avenue, NE in Roanoke, VA 24012. Online condolences to the family may be made at johnmoakey.com. The Leaman family is being served by John M. Oakey & Son Funeral and Cremation Service in Salem, 389-5441.

David had the sweetest smile. I called him "a big teddy bear". God Hold him close now, and his family. I will miss him "catching the bus" and telling me stories at the Care Center.
