Dianne touched many co-workers and friends in her position with the VEC. Her smile and positive attitude was inspiring to be around as it affected those near her. She will be missed by many of us that worked with her directly and indirectly. Her journey is over here and she has arrived in a better place!

To The Family of Dianne James,
I wanted to write and share how very much I loved and admired Dianne. I worked with Dianne for 21 years at the Lynchburg Virginia Employment Commission. Dianne touched thousands of lives in our workplace. No matter how tired she was, Dianne greeted each client with her dazzling smile and shared kind words of comfort and encouragement. She did everything possible to assist them in finding employment.
Dianne never judged nor said anything negative about anyone she encountered. She was adventureous, vibrantly alive and interested in others' thoughts, ideas and life experiences. She loved life; inspired, comforted and encouraged others in a manner that only advanced spiritual souls can do.
I am so grateful, to God, for allowing me the wonderful experience of knowing and loving Dianne and for the many happy, laugh-filled moments I spent with her.
I would like to conclude with this vision I had of Her at 2:53 a.m. on 4/24/10:
"Dear Friend, I Love You---
I have a vision of you glowing with beauty and vitality.
There is joy and excitement, within you, as you move forward into this new chapter of Your Life.
I see You illuminated and resting peacefully in God's warm embrace.
Forever enfolded in His unending love and eternal light.
Have a glorious and wondrous new life, Sweet Friend.
We will meet again."

Lynette, I dont if you remember me or not but we used to work together at Long John Silvers many years ago. I am so sorry about the loss of your mother. I remember her very well from Forest Brook Rd. My thoughts and prayers are with you. I will make "contact me" available on this post. It is ironic that I was looking at pictures last night from the LJS days. Take Care

I am sure that a little bit of Dianne-Dust has been sprinkled on each of us who knew her and will remain in our hearts. Each time we forge ahead and make something happen (even if it seems impossible), or help others in need, or teach folks something new so they can make their lives better, we will know that Dianne is approving and cheering us on. I have no doubt Dianne has posted a schedule of workshops in heaven and has presented St Peter with a list of materials and equipment she will need. To Dianne's family - God bless.

I will miss her greatly. I have been with the VEC for 44 years and have known her almost the entire time she was with our agency. She had become like a sister to me. She always was able to laugh regardless of what was going on with her. She touched the lives of many people who will never forget her. She was a very genuine and compassionate person who was always there for me if I needed a shoulder to cry on. Her wit and personality can never be replaced. I pray that the Lord and his angels be with you and the family thru this ordeal.

L.A., Dawn & Lynette,
I am so sorry to learn about your mom. Cherish your memories of her; I pray that they bring you comfort.
I remember her from long ago, when you all lived on Autumn Drive. I lived on Edgewood Avenue and remember playing at your house as kids (my maiden name was St.John).
Please accept my sympathy for your loss. Thinking and praying for you all.

Speaking for the hundreds of IAWP (International Association of Workforce Professionals) members whose lives Dianne touched over the years, we will miss her bright smile, her elegant charm, her quick wit, and, most importantly, the pleasure of her company. This world has lost a truly wonderful woman, but Heaven has just welcomed a brand new Angel! We all hope to see you again some day, Dianne. We grieve with her family and will keep them in our thoughts and prayers. Harold Kretzer, President - Virginia Chapter IAWP/Workforce Professionals of Virginia

Dianne was a dear person - smart, funny, caring, and genuine. She was a good listener and always had a solution to a problem. I knew her through IAWP (International Association of Workforce Professionals), in which she was an officer of the Virginia Chapter. My last great memory of her was at our international conference in Richmond when we hosted a colonial banquet and ball. Dianne was in colonial grand dame costume dancing the Virginia Reel. She will be remembered - and missed - by many people.
With deep sympathy,

I am so very sorry to hear about Dianne. I knew she had been sick but never knew how bad. I know what its like losing a sister and parent and know how youre feeling. I always loved running into Dianne as she never seemed to have a bad day and always left me smiling . She also seemed to always be dressed to the nines and that i dont see much of in the Coffeys including myself, such a pretty lady inside and out. I have no doubt she left a lasting impression on each life she touched and will be greatly missed
