Dollie Layne Obituary

Dollie Lunsford Layne, 90, of Roanoke, Va., passed away on Sunday, May 2, 2010. She was the widow of F. Russell Layne and is also preceded in death by her sister, Mittie Glass; and brothers, Edward, Dennis and Hubert Lunsford. Surviving is her son, Durwood A. Layne, of Roanoke; sister, Minnie Johnson; nephews, W. Alvin Hudson and wife, Jackie, and Edward Norman Hudson and wife, Betty; also are a number of cousins, great-nieces and great-nephews; and special friends, David and Darlene Blevins. The family would like to give a special thanks to Amedisys Hospice Service and the staff at Avante Nursing Home. A graveside funeral service will be held 11 a.m. on Wednesday, May 5, 2010, at Fair View Cemetery with Pastor Tim Martin officiating. The family will receive friends from 4 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, May 4, 2010, at Oakey's Roanoke Chapel, 540-982-2100.
