Dale, I know you are hurting but he and Daddy are both at peace now with no more sickness or pain. Daddy always appreciated your Dad putting trust in him to drive his race car. My Dad, your Dad and Jabe were always such good friends. My thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family. Call or drop in some time; I am sure that we would have a blast talking about the "old days."
Sincerely Ervin Brooks and the Brooks family.

Sorry to hear about the passing of Don. I met him through Roy Mayne & Jabe Thomas in 1973. Don and I had some fun times together on the 25 car during that year. I'll always have found memories of Don.

My thoughts and prayers are with the family. Enjoyed watching Don's car, driven by Jabe Thomas competing in the 70's. Don and those like him are what made NASCAR a true sport.
May God Bless.

I attened VA Western (Roanoke Tech) in the late 60's and had been a racing fan all of my life. Living in Roanoke gave me the opportunity to visit Star City Body Shop and I spent many an afternoon talking with Don about NASCAR and their efforts. At that time Jabe Thomas was their driver. Don was alway friendly and patient and would take time to explain what they were doing and why they were doing it. I'll always remember my trip to Star City Body Shop, my discussions with Don, and seeing "Big Mama" loaded and on the way to the next track. He will be greatly missed by all that knew him.
