Eva King Shelton, 79, of Wytheville, passed away Tuesday, October 8, 2013. She was born on April 29, 1934 in Crockett, the daughter of the late Raymond Clarence King and Mary Elizabeth Brown King. She was preceded in death by her husband, Conrad Mason Shelton; and her brother, Landon Clarence King. Eva was a member of New Bethel United Methodist Church. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Randolph and Carol Shelton, of Wytheville; two grandchildren, Randy Jr. and Callie Shelton, Amanda Shelton; and two sisters and brother-in-law, Evelyn King and William Ray Buress, Mary Catherine King, all of Wytheville. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, October 11, 2013, at the Barnett Funeral Chapel with the Reverend Steve Alderman and Pastor Richard Collins officiating. Interment will follow in New Bethel UMC Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
