Florence Bosserman Obituary

Florence Rotenberry Bosserman, 91, passed away on Sunday, March 21, 2011, at the Pinellas Point Nursing Home in St. Petersburg, Fla. Beloved wife, mother, sister and friend to all, she was born on November 3, 1919, in Roanoke, Va., to the late William Robert and Dora Josephine Rotenberry. She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Pete; her son, Micheal; and stepgrandson, Rusty Frye. Florence is survived by her loving sons, John G. (Jack) and daughterin-law, Jackie, of St. Petersburg, Fla.; and son, Richard and daughter-in-law, Janice, of Rocky Point, N.C.; and her loving sister, Freida Ruff, of Roanoke, Va. She was blessed with four grandchildren, Laurie (Jimmy) Williams, of Shawsville, Va., Lisa (Steve) Brown, of Seattle, Wash., John G. (Butch) Bosserman III, of St. Petersburg, Fla., and Teresa (Todd) Emmons, of Hudson, Fla.; four stepgrandchildren, Cindy (Steve) Murray, of Howery, in the Hills, Fla., Scott (April) Frye, of St. Petersburg, Fla., Jamie (Felicia) and Brian (Ashley) Turner, of North Carolina; six greatgrandchildren; six step grandchildren; nine greatgreat-grandchildren; one step great-grandchild; and many nieces, nephews and great friends. Florence was a member of the original Fincastle Baptist Church and the Fincastle Fire and Rescue for many years. The family would like to thank Becky and Bob Morrison and close neighbors and numerous friends for the friendships through out the years. A Memorial Service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 14, 2011, in the Historic Old Fincastle Baptist Church, 45 E. Main St., Fincastle, Va., and a graveside service at Godwin cemetery to follow.
