George Alvis Harman III, 52, of Floyd, passed away on Friday, September 27, 2013. He loved his family, to hunt deer, and to trout fish. He came to love all of the friends at New Hope Church of God. He is survived by his wife, Tanya; stepson, Cory Ratcliffe and his wife, Samantha; and grandson, Ty. Also surviving are his sisters, Darla Smith and David Hatcher, Carol Huffman and Pat; brother, Floyd Harman Sr. and Anita; nieces and nephews, Victor, Austin, and Taylor Huffman, Floyd Harman Jr. and wife Erin, Ashley Anielski, John Robert Anielski, and Dakota Harman; great-nieces and great-nephew, Haylie, Kelly, Hunter and Emily Harman.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, September 30, 2013, at the Maberry Funeral Home Chapel, with Pastor Mike Bond and Associate Pastor Jamie Cooper officiating. Interment to follow in the Pine Creek Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. on Sunday, September 29, 2013, at the funeral home.
