Gladys Pugh Obituary

Gladys Sheftic Pugh, 87, of Roanoke, Va., died on Thursday, April 15, 2010. She is preceded in death by her husband, Earl R. Pugh. Mrs. Pugh was born on July 9, 1922, to the late Tekla and Frank Szewezyk. She was a member of Our Lady of Nazareth Catholic Church and loved painting and doing crafts. She enjoyed volunteering at Hospice of the Hills in Lynchburg when it first began and also volunteered for Meals on Wheels. Surviving is her daughter, Connie Venable; son, Ron DelNero and wife, Rachel; granddaughter, Brittney DelNero; several nieces and nephews; and a sister-in-law. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated 11 a.m. on Monday, April 26, 2010, at Our Lady of Nazareth Catholic Church with Msgr. Joseph Lehman officiating. Inurnment will follow in St. Andrew's Diocesan Cemetery. The family will receive friends after 6 p.m. on Saturday, April 17, 2010, and after 2 p.m. on Sunday, April 18, 2010, at Oakey's South Chapel, 540-989-3131.

Grandma I love you! You were so much fun and bright light in our lives. We lost Dad last night, your precious son. I am hoping he is up there with you and Grandpa. I love you Dad and I love you grandma! I miss you so much!
