Guydie Blankenship Haskins, 92, of Rocky Mount and formerly of Hurt, died Sunday, July 7, 2013, at Franklin Health and Rehabilitation Center of Rocky Mount. She was the wife of the late Samuel Douglas Haskins. She was born January 16, 1921, in Roanoke, a daughter of the late Joseph Blankenship and Cora Belle Witt Blankenship. She was a member of Rocky Mount Baptist Church and was also a loving wife, mother and grandmother.

She is survived by a son, Jerry L. Haskins, of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; three daughters, Janet H. Crouch, of Hurt, Joan H. Wolfe and her husband, Mike, of Goldsboro, N.C., and Connie Wray and her husband, Mike, of Rocky Mount; two sisters, Helen Sink, of Roanoke and Hazel Harris, of Hampton; eight grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by a son, Douglas Joe Haskins; a brother, Joe Blankenship; a sister, Louise Deal; a son-in-law, C.H. Crouch; two daughter-in-laws, Geraldine Haskins and Barbara Haskins; and a grandson, Keith Haskins.
A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 10, 2013, at Altavista Memorial Park by the Rev. John Collins.
The family will receive friends at the home of Janet Crouch, 285 Perdue Drive, Motley, VA 24563.
