I liked his sense of humour, openness and the very gentleman-like way of calling his granddaughters, Zuzu and Phoebe, per: Miss Zuzu and Miss Phoebe.

Jim was a valued colleague, treasured friend, thoughtful encourager, and trusted confidant. I appreciated his wisdom, his humor, and his insight. My life is so much richer and my ministry finer because of Jim Smith.
