James Dooley Obituary

James Aubrey Dooley, 77, of Roanoke, passed away Friday, April 16, 2010, at his residence. He was born on Tuesday, September 27, 1932, in Bedford County, a son of the late James Chesterfield Dooley and Hester Ruth Carter Dooley. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth Mary Overstreet Dooley. He was a retired employee of Fred Whittaker Yarn Dying Company, was of the Presbyterian faith and was a United States Army veteran of the Korean Conflict. Surviving is his son, James Danny Dooley of Roanoke; daughter, Donna Dooley Thurman & husband, Jeffery, of Roanoke; grandchildren, Keela Dooley, Jennifer Thurman, Megan Lively; two brothers, George Alfred Dooley and Roy J. Dooley, both of Bedford County. A special thanks to Mary Kay, Lynn & Michelle. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Monday, April 19, 2010, at Updike Funeral Chapel, Bedford, with Pastor Geoff Hubbard officiating. Interment will follow in Cool Springs Cemetery. Friends may call after 9 a.m. Monday, and the family will receive friends until the time of the service at Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Bedford.

To family of Aubrey and to Odessa,
I grew up and went to school with Aubrey. I'm sorry for his passing. I hope he wasn't in pain.
