Jean Hebard Lisk, 85, of Roanoke, passed away on Wednesday, October 16, 2013. Jean was born in Rochester, N.Y., on July 30, 1928, the daughter of Elsie and Frank Hebard. She earned her Bachelor's Degree from SUNY-Brockport and retired from the Roanoke City Public School System after many years of dedicated service as a teacher.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, David K. Lisk; her parents; and her sister, Betty Causey.
She is survived by her three sons, Timothy D. Lisk and his wife, Tammy, of Roanoke, Va., Thomas A. Lisk and his wife, Anita, of Richmond, Va., and Robert K. Lisk and his wife, Nancy, of Herndon, Va.; six grandchildren, Sarah Lisk, Tyler Lisk, Logan Lisk, Matthew Lisk, Corey Lisk, and Bridget Lisk; two step grandchildren, Crystal Lawhorn, her husband, David, and their children, McKenzie and Lucas; and Christopher Taylor and his wife, Morgan; her brother-in-law, James Causey; her nephew; and two nieces.
The family will receive friends from 5 until 8 p.m. on Friday, October 25, 2013, at Oakey's South Chapel, 4257 Brambleton Ave., Roanoke, Va. In lieu of flowers, the family requests any contributions be made in Jean's memory to Good Samaritan Hospice, 2408 Electric Road, Roanoke, VA 24018. The family will hold a private memorial for Jean at St. Elizabeth's Episcopal Church, where she was a long-time member.
