Jimmy McGuire Obituary

Jimmy Ray McGuire, 63, formerly of Starlight Lane, Roanoke County, Va., and Friendship Manor, passed away on Tuesday, May 4, 2010, at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital. Born on September 5, 1946, in Roanoke County, he was a son of the late William Hatcher McGuire Sr. and Bessie Amos McGuire. Also preceding him in death were brothers, Bobby Gene and Jackie Neal McGuire. Jimmy is survived by his brother, William Hatcher McGuire Jr. and wife, Nellyce, of Roanoke; his sister, Willa Dean Sink and husband, the Rev. Paul W. Sink Sr., of Roanoke; nieces, Robin Endsley and husband, Jim, of Charlotte, N.C., and Jana Lynn Rice and husband. Pete. of Roanoke; nephew, Paul W. Sink Jr. and wife, Reba, of Rocky Mount; great-nephews, Matthew P. Sink and Kenneth W. Vaden; great-nieces, Lena E. Rice and Kaitlyn Endsley; and great-great-niece, Kylee Ann Sink. The funeral service will be held 11 a.m. on Thursday, May 6, 2010, in the Roanoke Chapel of Lotz Funeral Home with the Rev. Paul W. Sink Sr. and the Rev. Sherrill Michael officiating. Interment will follow in Franklin Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday at Lotz Funeral Home. They would like to thank the physicians and nurses of Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital who took excellent care of Jimmy and especially the Palliative Care and Hospice units on the 10th floor.
