Joey Ferguson Obituary

Joey Lee Ferguson, 58, of Roanoke, Va., passed peacefully away on Tuesday, June 22, 2010. He was predeceased by his parents, Jesse and Jennie Ferguson; and a brother, Jackie Ferguson. Joey was an avid lover of cats and antique cars. Surviving are his wife of 14 years, Carole Newman Ferguson; three stepsons, Greg Newman and wife, Irene, Rob Newman, and Jim Newman and wife, Lisa; six grandchildren, Debra (D.J.), Brittany, Cory, Sara, Jordan and Hannah Newman; great-granddaughter, Alyssa; two brothers, James L. Ferguson and wife, Skipper, and Jerry F. Ferguson and wife, Teeinna; sister, Jane F. Stevens and husband, Kenneth; sister-inlaw, Mamie Rose Ferguson; several nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Don (Pops) Maddox. Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 11537, Alexandria, Va. 22312. Graveside Funeral Service will be held 10 a.m. on Saturday, June 26, 2010, in Sherwood Memorial Park with the Rev. Kenneth Gray officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, June 25, 2010, at Oakey's North Chapel, 540-362-1237.
