Kenneth Jones Obituary

Kenneth Wayne Jones, 63, of Bristol, Tenn., and formerly of Roanoke, passed away Saturday, May 29, 2010. Born in Roanoke September 13, 1946, he was a son of the late Leo and Pauline Riggs Jones. Kenneth was known by his family, friends and others as a kind and generous man, always willing to help others, and possessing a strong work ethic. His daughter described him as a servant, his son said he was a protector. He is survived by his beloved wife of 38 years, Peggy Jones; two sons, Kevin Jones and his wife Kathy, and Kenneth Wayne Jones, Jr.; three daughters, Wanda Jones, Tracey Crowe and her husband Kacy, and Mary Bowe; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two sisters, Gloria Hammer and Carolyn Pagan; and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Tuesday, June 1, 2010, from 5 to 7 p.m. in the Roanoke Chapel of Lotz Funeral Home. The memorial service will follow at 7 p.m. The family suggests memorial contributions may be made to the Mission of Hope House, 1030 Granada Ave., Nashville, Tenn., 37206-3444.
