Kim and I were very close when I lived in North Carolina, and helped each other through some difficult times. To my delight, we finally re-established contact online a couple of years ago. While I am deeply saddened, I do know that she is finally at peace, which is the only satisfying part of this. My deepest condolences to the Swartz family.

To the Swartz family, I am so sorry for your loss. I have such great memories of Kim on the Virginia Impact team in those "eggplant" jumpers! We hit those low parts together. She always had a smile on her face! She will always be remembered. Your family are in my prayers.

I can hardly begin to describe what Kim meant to me. She was one of my closest friends and favorite human beings in the entire world. She was always right about things--poems, people, Diet Coke, you name it. She was brilliant, funny and beautiful, her laugh was fantastic, and I will never stop missing her. I am so grateful for the opportunity to have known her. My love and deepest sympathies are with her family and those closest to her.

Our memories of both Jennifer and Kimmy are sweet. 26 years ago next month Kimmy caught the bridal bouquet at our wedding. We have a precious picture of her as she realizes the prize was hers! So very sweet. We are praying for your family.

My heart breakes to hear about Kim's passing. I had been out of town and just found out a few minutes ago. I remember all of the times that Kim and Katie were together during their elementary days, the good times that she spent at our house and the good times that Katie spent at yours. Today has been a very hard day. Wish I could have been there to give you guys a huge hug and share some very fond memories of the times we had together. I have so many great memories of Kim from camp and from the impact team. Her beautiful smile and kind heart were among my favorite things about her. I am so glad I was able to reconnect with Kim through Facebook over the past few years. Man that girl was smart!

My fondest memories of Kim are coming into work each morning and seeing her iced Starbucks coffee, the newest knitted purse she had made, and her warm, bright smile that you could see even radiate in her eyes. Never a cross word, she was a ray of light that was so deeply loved and will so sincerely be missed.

To the Swartz family, I am so very sorry for your loss. I will always remember the Kim I knew in Junior High. The last year was great getting to know her again at work and I will cherish the memories of the few lunches we shared just a month ago, I still can't believe I won't get another one. "Rice Cakes and Tofutti and ok, just a few Bunny Graham cookies, but just a few." Ugh, those cigarettes and empty coffee cups :) I even miss those, not as much as her smiles about the new Iris photos though. Please know that my thoughts are with you and that Kim will be and already is greatly missed.

My heart aches for your loss. I considered Kim to be my first 'best friend' as we were only in kindergarten at the time (Monterey Elementary School). Soon after, she moved away but through the years Kim has always had a special place in my heart. I regret failing to get back in touch with her after she moved back to Roanoke. She has and always will be considered a dear friend. May you find the peace and comfort that only God can give during this time.

Oh Mary Sue...my daughter's other Mother...what can I say to you? My heart aches for you. I believe that God spoke to Kim in her last moments, claiming her, giving her the peace and happiness that she so desired. And Jennifer...Alician's best friend, I too, know what it is like to loose a sister, a friend...I love you sweetie. My deepest condolences to Kim's family... I had the pleasure of meeting Kim at work and she was one of the first people to be-friend me. I will always remember her for her talent, quick wit, sarcastic expressions and the love that she had for her niece. She was amazing and my prayers go out to your family.

Kim had the brightest smile and would light up when she talked about Iris and she always had a picture to share. I remember talking to her about going to see Iris and she was so excited. Kim always had the time to stop for a minute to talk, listen and share.
May God comfort her family and friends during this time of loss.

I only knew Kimberly as a very young beautiful little girl when I babysat for her and Jennifer at family camp in Virginia. I went to school with Kim from elementary through high school, and continued to bump into her from time to time over the years at the music store. All you had to do was ask, "Do you have any new pictures of Iris?" and Kim's face would just light up. Iris was the center of her life and brought her so much joy. I made Kim's iced coffee almost every morning that she came into my Starbucks for the past 4 years.. She was always an absolute joy to talk to at 6am, and I came to know her quite well. I (and the rest of us at Towers) will greatly miss seeing her bright, shining face every morning. The world has lost a truly beautiful person. East Gate held a special time to remember the family on Sunday. I could hardly believe the news on loosing "Kimmy". David and I have so many memories of you, Jenny and Kimmy. We saw you not to long ago and things looked great. Please know that we cannot know how you feel but we CAN pray, and keep you in our thoughts! When Kim worked in my restaurant (Chico & Billy's) I encouraged her to take up art. Later she gave me one of her paintings. This past Thursday I was going through some things that had been in storage for years and found that painting. And on my birthday you posted on my FB profile "Happy Birthday Chico. Did you ever know you are my hero?" I will miss you.

I remember coming to work and the first thing i would do is look for Kim. We were usually one of the first ones to come in. She would be drinking her ice coffee from starbucks. We would talk about how our evening went and what we had to do that day. Of course the most enjoyable part of seeing her was when I would ask if there were any new pictures of Iris. That was when Kim would give you the biggest smile and show me them. God, how she loves that girl. I thank God for those moments. I can sometimes still hear her voice. My heart goes out to her family and friends. Kim will be greatly missed. May her soul be at rest and her spirit be with us always.
