Lois Elizabeth Aldridge, born April 12, 1926, in Salem, Va., peacefully left this earth on Saturday August 24, 2013. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Elizabeth Showalter, her loving husband, Winfred "Wink" Aldridge, a brother, John "Mickey" Showalter, grandsons, David Moore, Cade Aldridge, and granddaughter Alicia Aldridge. She leaves here on earth a sister, Margret Guthrie, of Roanoke; daughters, Sandy (Dave) Brunson, of Roanoke, Shirley Chittum, of Roanoke, Jean (Jim) Redding, of Winston-Salem, N.C., Joyce (Mike) Stanback, of Roanoke, Yvonne (Frank) Rhudy, of New Castle; sons, Billy (Suzanne) Aldridge, of Charlotte and Jimmy (Debbie) Aldridge, of Birmingham, Ala. Also she leaves 12 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.

Lois was a member of 9th Street Church of the Brethren and had a strong love for animals, especially her dog Boomer and cat, Bootsie. She loved to cook for her family and was an avid bird watcher. She will be laid to rest alongside her beloved husband, Wink, at Sherwood Memorial Gardens.
