Lois Stout Obituary

Lois Knight Quesenberry Stout, 92, of Hillsville, Va., passed away on Saturday, April 17, 2010, at the home of her daughter, Phyllis, in Herndon, Va. Born on April 20, 1917, in Indian Valley, Va., to Clelia Ettie Duncan Slusher and Walter Thomas Slusher, she is survived by her daughters, Phyllis Q. Robinson, of Herndon, Va., and Sarah Q. Hargrave, of Mill Valley, Calif.; grandchildren, Sarah Jane Balsley (Alan) and R. Richard Robinson (Karen); great-grandchildren, Matt (Heidi), Kara, Noah, Trey and Reid; great-great-grandchild, Samuel; several nieces and nephews; stepchildren, Sylvia S. Core (Bob), of Knoxville, Tenn., Stephen O. Stout (Marlene), of Charlotte, N.C., and Stewart R. Stout (Jenny), of McMinnville, Ore.; step grandchildren, Jennifer, Andrew (Shannon), Patrick (Ivy), Deirdre (Adam), Danielle (Daniel), Lydia (David), Rebecca and Nicholas; and stepgreat grandchildren, Elliott, Wyatt, Brock, Macie, Bennett, Eden, Charlotte and Mercy. She is also survived by Paula Asselin, who was like a daughter to her. She was preceded in death by husbands, Teddie W. Quesenberry and K. Deane Stout; two brothers; and three sisters. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Saturday, April 24, 2010, at the chapel of Vaughan-GuynnMcGrady Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held 4 p.m. on Sunday, April 25, 2010, at the First United Methodist Church of Hillsville, Va., followed by a graveside service at Wilkinson Memorial Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the First United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 356, Hillsville, Va. 24343; Holston Home for Children, P.O. Box 188, Greenville, Tenn. 37744; Knoxville First United Methodist Church, 3316 Kingston Pike, Knoxville, Tenn. 37919; or to Capital Hospice, 209 Gibson Street, NW, Suite 202, Leesburg, Va. 20176.
