Mabel P. Bandy

Mabel P. Bandy, 87, of Christiansburg, Va., passed on to be with her Heavenly Father surrounded by her family on Friday, September 3, 2010 at Pheasant Ridge Nursing Home in Roanoke, Va. Her glowing smile, wink of her eye, and her laugh will be truly missed but not forgotten by all of the lives she touched. She had a true gift of making people happy. She was preceded in death by her husband, Maynard Bandy; daughter-in-law, Nancy Bandy; and granddaughter, Ashley Chaffin. She is survived by her children: son, Kerry Bandy of Roanoke; daughter, Linda Sanders of Vinton, daughter, Shirley Duncan and husband, Larry of Shawsville; son, Mike Bandy and wife, Nancy of Shawsville, son, Denny Bandy and wife, Sandy of Salem, son, John Bandy and wife, Karen of Salem; 16 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; and a long list of other relatives and friends. The family will receive friends on Sunday, September 5, 2010 from 2 until 5 p.m. at Horne Funeral Home. A funeral service will be conducted on Monday, September 6, 2010 at 11 a.m. from the chapel of Horne Funeral Home conducted by Pastor John Collins. Interment will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
