Ralph Goodell Darling

Ralph Goodell Darling, 82, of Salem, Va., passed away on Thursday, April 29, 2010, at the VA Medical Center in Salem. Mr. Darling was born on June 4, 1927, in Cherry Valley, Mass. Ralph was preceded in death by his father, LeRoy Edson Darling Sr.; mother, Cora May Goodell; and one brother, LeRoy E. Darling Jr. Mr. Darling served his country faithfully in the United States Army and retired from the VA Medical Center after 30 years of service. He was a faithful member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church. He leaves to mourn his death one nephew, Lee George Darling, of Mesa, Ariz.; three greatnieces, Carmen Darling Lopez, Lana Darling Barraza, and Jessica Darling, also of Arizona; and a host of church family and friends. A graveside service will held 10 a.m. on Monday, May 3, 2010, at Sherwood Memorial Park with Elder Tommy Price officiating. Arrangements are being handled by Lotz Funeral Home in Salem, Va.
