Richard Catron Obituary

Richard David (Dick) Catron, 65, passed away Friday, April 9, 2010 at his home in Dublin, Virginia. Dick served in the United States Air Force and was a lifetime member of the VFW Post 4667. After graduating
from Emory & Henry College and receiving a master's degree, he was employed and retired from the Virginia Probation System, where he served both juvenile and adult clients over his years of loyal service. Dick met several people and established many friendships in the community through his work by using his well known sense of style and humor. However, he placed family as a priority throughout his life by being a loving and devoted husband of 17 years, a loving brother, nephew and uncle. Dick loved being around family, whether it was spent discussing current issues with uncles every Saturday morning over breakfast at Hardees or playing Phase 10 with his brother, sister-in-law and uncle every Saturday afternoon. He will be sadly missed by his family, friends and fellow colleagues. He was preceded in death by his father, John David Catron, his mother, Eunice Salmons Catron Seabolt, his beloved grandmother, Pauline Blanchett Catron Wright, niece, Bridgette Feigley Dancy, uncles, John Kelly Wright and Leroy Catron, aunt, Marie Catron Corvin and special aunt, Willie Wright White. He is survived by his loving wife, Pat Phillips Catron, of Dublin, Va.; one brother and sister-in-law, Perry and Marty Catron, of Marion, Va.; one sister and brother-in-law, Judy and Bart Feigley, of Marion, Va.; one brother-in-law and wife, Steve and Diane Phillips, of Dublin, Va.; his very special uncles include George Wright, Gray Wright, Tommy Wright and Bob White; his nieces are Rebecca, Phoebe, Tabatha and Martha Lee and nephews, Drew, Cody and Wyatt; several great-nieces and great-nephews also survive. Funeral services will be held 8 p.m. Sunday, April 11, 2010 at Seaver-Brown Chapel, Marion, Virginia with the Reverend Jonathan Jonas officiating. The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 6 p.m. until the time of the service at Seaver-Brown Chapel. Graveside Services will be held Monday, April 12, 2010 at 11 a.m. at Rose Lawn Cemetery, Marion, Va.

Words are inadequate to express my sadness for you as I read about Mr. Catron's passing. Please know that you are in my thoughts and prayers. I pray that you will find comfort in knowing that you are surrounded by prayers and the knowledge that Jesus promised that He will be with you through every step of the way.
