Roger Dorey Obituary

Roger Lee Dorey, 63, of Buena Vista, Va., went to be with the Lord on Monday, August 9, 2010, surrounded by his loving wife, daughter and granddaughter. He was preceded in death by two children, Roger Lee Dorey Jr., and Debra Dorey; and his father, Homer Camden. Mr. Dorey attended Lighthouse Church. Surviving are his parents, Alfred and Ruth Dorey; his loving wife of 15 years, Alice Dorey; a daughter, Tonia Jones and husband, Cary, of Spanaway, Wash.; two special granddaughters, Hailey Jones, of Washington, and Ashley Wheeler, of Buena Vista; two special stepsons, Danny Wheeler and wife, Sissy, and Chad Wheeler and wife, Melissa, of Buena Vista; three brothers, Jerry Dorey Sr. and wife, Mary, of Glasgow, Mel Dorey and wife, Diane, of Roxboro, N.C., and Richard Camden and wife, Deb, of Staunton, Va.; five sisters, Nancy Gilbert and husband, Mike, Betty Brockenbough, Diana Newcomer, all of Buena Vista, Patsy Clark and husband, Dennis, of Glen Allen, Va., and Gloria Snyder and husband, David, of Raphine, Va.; five stepgrandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be held 2 p.m. on Wednesday, August 11, 2010, in Bolling, Grose & Lotts Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Jay Thorne officiating. Burial will follow in Rockbridge Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, August 10, 2010, at Bolling, Grose & Lotts Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Buena Vista, Va., 540-261-5510.

Mrs. Dorey,

I am so sorry to hear of Roger's passing. I handled his workers' compensation claim,and he was always a pleasure. My condolences to you and your family.
