Ruby Boone Taylor

Ruby Boone Taylor, 89, of Wirtz, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family, Sunday, June 20, 2010. She was born September 21, 1920, a daughter of the late Cline and Maggie Bowman Boone. She was also preceded in death by her husband, James Taylor, Sr.; son, Jim Taylor, Jr.; sisters, Ruth Garber and Lydia Rutrough; and brother, Robert Boone. Surviving are her son and daughters-in-law, Michael and Sandy Taylor, of Richmond; daughter-in-law, Marilee Taylor, of Centerville, Ga.; son, John and Linda Taylor, of Mebane, N.C.; daughter and son-in-law, Martha and Dean Bowman, of Boones Mill; 14 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; brothers, Arthur Boone (Rowena), Samuel Boone (Eva), Ezra Boone, Joel Boone (Phyllis), Riley Boone (Judy), Roy Boone (JoAnn); sisters, Ena Miller, Dorothy Layman, Susie Bowman (Ezra), Dora Austin (Marion); brother-in-law, Albert Rutrough (Mary Lee); many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted from Oak Hill Old German Baptist Brethren Church 10 a.m. Tuesday with the Home Brethren officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family asks that flowers be omitted. Her family will receive friends 2 to 5 p.m. and 6 to 9 p.m. Monday at the church. Arrangements by Flora Funeral & Cremation Service, Rocky Mount.
