Sarah Ellen Overfelt Hodges, 71, of Troutville, passed away Tuesday, August 6, 2013, and the Heavenly Angels took our angel home. Sarah was retired from B & L Upholstery and was a member of Family Bible Fellowship. She loved baking, cooking, sewing and laying out by her pool. She was predeceased by her husband, William Thomas Hodges, Sr. and parents, Allen (Sam) and Lear Hartman Overfelt. Survivors include her son, William Thomas Hodges Jr., the second love of her life; daughter-in-law, Jenny Hodges; granddaughters, Marissa Tunno and Killey Renee; sisters and brothers-in-law, Nancy Blankenship, Mary and Sonny Long, Bertha Blake and Richard; brothers and sisters-in-law, Sam and Gloria Overfelt, Kelvin and Dreama Overfelt, Joseph (Joe) and Ruth Overfelt; aunt, Frances Overfelt; uncles, John Hartman, Ira Hartman and wife, Joanne, Raymond Blankenship; numerous nieces and nephews, all of whom she spoiled; many cousins, her church family and special friends.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, August 10, 2013, at the Lotz Funeral Home Chapel in Vinton with the Rev. Barry Witt officiating. Interment will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Friday, August 9, 2013, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
