Years ago, I remember Sterling asking me for tips on how to overcome his intense stage fright. It takes a brave soul to get on stage at his age and perform for people. But that was Sterling- just as outgoing and vivacious as anyone could be! So sorry for your family's loss.

Pat, Dreama & Larry, Stacie and family

So sorry to hear this news. Sterling was one of a kind man with his strong fun loving ways and his spirit and energy was very contagious. I will remember his stay at Ft Lee, the weekend festival I stayed with you, camping on the grounds. But mostly his laugh and knowledge how to live life in the moment. Stay strong he is watching down with a smile.

Sterling was an all around good person and my friend for 25 years. You couldn't help but smile around Sterling, even if you were arguing with him. It was a blessing to the bluegrass community that Sterling got to spend the last 15 years since retirement focused on what he loved, family and putting on wonderful bluegrass festivals.

I am eternally greatful to Sterling and Tripple Creek Park for allowing and always encouraging the young ones (especially my daughter Kenzie) to play and be a part of our wonderful heritage of life in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia.

Sterling, Dewey Prilliman has a little fiddle all ready for you, so we know you are doing ok.
