Timothy KEENE Obituary

Timothy Craig (Tim) Keene, 55, of Roanoke, died suddenly on Monday, December 31, 2012. He was preceded in death by his mother, Barbara Sartin; his father, Oliver Keene; grandparents, George and Laura Keene; his beloved cousin, Tammy and is survived by his wife of 25 years, Susan DeWell Keene; his daughter, Kristen Boykin of London, England; three brothers, Mark (Myrtle) Keene, Ben (Desireé Stafford) Sartin, Adam Keene and wife; two sisters-in-law, Peri and Peg Urvek; brother-in-law, Mike DeWell and wife, Wanda; uncles and aunts, Olen and Mary Keene, Jerry and Ann Keene, Norma Keene, George and Marlene Mitchell; numerous beloved first, second and third cousins; three very special friends who will miss him dearly, Kenny Seay, Phil Holland, and Danny Christian.
Tim was a 1976 graduate of Richlands High School, while there he was a rock musician, as well as playing the lead role in the school production of the musical Li'l Abner. Tim later chose carpentry as his trade and would proudly point out the many custom homes that he helped build. He was a musician by heart, a carpenter by trade, but his favorite job by far was being a loving husband. Over the past several years you could see Tim playing bluegrass at Happy's or making music videos for his YouTube channel (PlanetKeene). You might even have seen him at a Tea Party meeting.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, January 3, 2013 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 7:30 p.m. at Oakey's North Chapel and would like for you to join us in a celebration of Tim's Life which will be held at 7:30 p.m. after the visitation at the funeral home.
Susan would love you to tell how you met Tim and to share your memories and experiences with him. Tim was a man of strong faith, strong convictions, and strong love, let us remember him with joy.

Tim was more than just a brother-in-law, he was a friend as well. Not only will Peg and I miss him, all the folks he met out here in CA while visiting us will miss him as well. The only thing that makes his passing more bearable for those who loved him is that he is now where he wished to be: with his Lord, and no doubt, certain that good care will be taken of his wife by all who loved them both.

Was are so sorry to learn of Tim's passing. He will always be remembered by the Class of 76 due to his ability to light up the corner where he should happen to be, though he was rarely in the corner for long. He will be sadly missed by his remaining classmates both today and in our future. We will miss his wit, jokes and bright smile. Forever in our hearts and minds.
