William O. Pratt 79, of Charlottesville, Va., passed away on Monday, August 26, 2013. He leaves behind daughter, Angela Durand, of Charlottesville; daughter, Deborah Chappell, of Fredericksburg; son, Theodore Pratt, of Caroline; grandchildren, Jessica, Zachery, Jordon, Brandon, and Cody.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Phyllis Pratt; his mom, Mabel; and dad, George Pratt.
William graduated from Virginia Tech. He was an Army Veteran; served in the Korean War; and retired from the Pentagon where he worked as a Nuclear Safety Engineer. William designed nuclear missiles put on naval ships and briefed the President on numerous occasions. He also worked at Dahlgren for many years. He was heavy into politics and ran for Senator. He enjoyed camping, coaching soccer and loved his family and friends very much. William had a zest for life, optimistic attitude and a gentle loving spirit. He will be missed greatly!
