Dear Lane:

My mother informed me of your great loss. I know it has been quite some time since we have connected, but I want you to know I have thought of you often and fondly, and I certainly send you my deepest condolences and love at this time. Your father was always a bit larger than life -- he did a great deal for the town of Abingdon and for the state of Virginia. I know you will miss him.

Lane, Mary and Ellen,
I was very sad to hear the news. Rog was a very gracious and very witty person and it was always a delight to see him at various events. I have wonderful memories of spending part of my childhood at The Bank, and other social events later in life. I wish you well and I hope that time will heal the wounds of loss speedily.

A true southern gentleman. Lane, I am so sorry for the loss of your Dad. I have such fond memories of your grandparents, when Bea and I were showing horses, being in the "Bank"and when you were playing tennis to get to spend time in your lovely home again with you and your family. I know he will be missed by the community of Abingdon.

To the Stuart family,
My deepest condolences on Rogers passing. I fondly remember him at GCC and always enjoyed his quick wit and the example he set as a true Southern gentleman. It was a pleasure to have known him. God bless you and your family as you celebrate his life.

Mary,
Very sorry to learn of George's passing. He was the most gracious man I have ever met --- a trait not often encountered in this modern world.
