Linda Perkins McCroskey, 63 of Roanoke County went to be with her Lord on Wednesday morning, July 3, 2013. Linda was a retired purchasing agent from the Southern Corp. and Coca Cola Co. and a faithful member of Living Water Christian Church. She enjoyed gardening, birding, traveling and spending time with the love of her life, her grandchildren. Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Glenn and Della Johnson Perkins, her son, Anthony Delp, her sisters, Ruth Farmer and Jean Halsey and her brother, Junior Perkins. She is survived by her devoted and loving husband of 8 years, Allan L. McCroskey; her children, Cynthia Dawn Delp, of Salem, Pastor James Michael (Mike) Delp and his wife Sarah of Benton, Pa.; her loving grandchildren, Lydia Grace Delp, Isaac Jamin Delp, Micah James Delp and Naomi Joy Delp; her stepson, Eric Scott McCroskey and his wife Anne of Goodview; her brothers, Bill Perkins and his wife Fran of Troutdale, Pete Perkins and his wife Diane, of Ferrum, Mack Perkins and his wife Ann of Independence; numerous nieces and nephews. "Emotional day. Grieving along with Allan McCroskey, Cindy Delp and Mike Delp. Linda McCroskey was an example of service and humility and love for Jesus and his Church, and her sudden passing has left an ache in our souls. Hug your parents and tell them you love them. Life is fleeting and your world can change in an instant."

A time of visitation with the family will be on Friday, July 5, 2013 from 4 to 7 p.m. with a service to celebrate her life at 7:30 p.m. at Oakey's South Chapel with Pastor Paul Hatfield officiating. Linda's interment will be on Saturday, July 6, 2013 at 1 p.m. in the Corinth Cemetery in Grayson County with her son, Mike conducting the service. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the Living Water Christian Church, 1520 Swimmer Lane, Salem, VA 24153 in her memory. Oakey's South Chapel is handling funeral arrangements.
