Vyto Anthony Kavelines, 86, of Roanoke, passed away on Monday, July 29, 2013, at the VA Medical Center, Salem, after an extended illness. He was born on December 10, 1926, a son of the late Peter and Mary Kavelines. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister. He was retired from the United States Army with 20 years of service with many tours of duty abroad. He spent his remaining years in the Roanoke area.

Surviving him are his loving and devoted wife of 58 years, Veronika Kavelines; and special cousins and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Disabled American Veterans, 116 North Jefferson Street, Roanoke, VA 24016.
The family requests no flowers or food to be brought to the home.
A Graveside Service will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Thursday, August 1, 2013, at Old Dominion Memorial Gardens with Father Bob Spencer officiating.
