Ceroshie Jacobs Maynor PEMBROKE — Mrs. Ceroshie Jacobs Maynor, 83, of 209 J. G. Farm Road, was born July 24, 1932, and went to be with the Lord on May 19, 2016. She was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. James Grant Maynor; two sons, Mr. James Anthony Maynor and Mr. Gregory Blaine Maynor; a grandson, Mr. Dennis Drake Maynor; her parents, Mr. William and Mrs. Georgeanna Jacobs; five brothers, Mr. Winford Jacobs, Mr. Ralph Jacobs, Mr. Harmon Jacobs, Mr. William Jacobs Jr. and Mr. Larry Jones; five sisters, Ms. Mertice Locklear, Ms. Roberta Locklear, Ms. Modis Locklear, Ms. Jessie Locklear and Ms. Mary Frances Woodell. The funeral will be 3 p.m. Sunday at Union Chapel Holiness Methodist Church, the Revs. Willie Scott Jr., Kelly G. Scott and Wayland Anderson. Burial will follow in the Maynor Cemetery. Mrs. Maynor is survived by her daughter, Mrs. Ramona Scott (Glonnie); four grandchildren, Cecelia Locklear (Tim), Bronnie Scott (Tiffany), Kelly Scott (Hattena), and Jessica Locklear (Phillip); 13 great-grandchildren; her caretaker, Sue Locklear; and a host of nieces and nephews, family and friends. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today at Locklear & Son Funeral Home.

McDonald, Joseph  
Joseph G. McDonald HENDERSON — Joseph Glenn McDonald, 70, a resident of 190 Hillandale Drive, died April 9, 2016, at Maria Parham Medical Center. Born on Jan. 20, 1946, in St. Pauls, N.C., he was the son of the late James Boyce McDonald and Mary Maxine Stephens McDonald. Glenn attended Chowan College and was a veteran of the United States Air Force, serving during the Vietnam War. He was a member of Island Creek Baptist Church, where he served as a Deacon and Director of the Baptist Men. He was a past President of the Townsville Lions Club and was the Lion of the Year in 2014. He was a former manager of Ridgeway Chip Mill and retired in 2012 from International Paper in Warren County. The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Island Creek Baptist Church, the Rev. J. Marshall Neathery. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. He is survived by his wife, Diana Darr McDonald of the home; a daughter, Jaime McDonald McNeill and husband David of Greenville, N.C.; a granddaughter, Rachel McNeill; four brothers, Ronald L. McDonald Sr. and wife Viola of St. Pauls, James B. McDonald and wife Clara of New Bern, William McDonald of Kinston, and Wayne McDonald of Lumberton; his sisters-in-law, Carolyn McDonald of St. Pauls, Shirley Rubenstein of Mt. Laurel, N.J., Carol King and husband Ed and Linda Steinke and husband Dan, all of Oklahoma City, Okla.; his brother-in-law, Robert Scocca and wife Darlene of Burlington, N.J.; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Paul S. McDonald. The family will receive friends immediately following the service in the Fellowship Hall at Island Creek Baptist Church, and at other times at the home. Serving as active pal bearers will be Ronnie Perkinson, Johnny Riggan, John Rice, James Overby, Roy Tippett, and Bob Morgan. Serving as honorary pall bearers will be members of the Townsville Lions Club. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the NC Baptist Men, P.O. Box 1107, Cary, N.C., 27512, or The Rev. J. Marshall Neathery Divinity School Endowed Scholarship Fund of Campbell University, c/o Campbell University Divinity School, PO Box 116, Buies Creek, N.C., 27506. Arrangements are by J. M. McLean, Julia - Lumberto  
Julia McLean LUMBERTON — Julia Pittman McLean, 31, died May 23, 2016, at Lower Cape Fear Hospice Care Center in Whiteville, N.C. She was born in Robeson County on July 8, 1984, to John Purcell and Ellen Pittman McLean. She was the owner/operator of Miriam's Gifts. Julia had a great love for wild life and animals of all kinds. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Dr. Rowland and Miriam Hartley Pittman; and her paternal grandparents, John Luther and Isabelle Gray McLean. She is survived by her parents; a brother, John P. McLean Jr.; a sister, Miriam Hartley McLean; a niece, Julian Pendleton McLean; a nephew, John Howard McLean, all of the home; her special friends, Allie and Terran; and a host of friends and extended family.
