Hardin, Elveta - Fairmont  
Elveta Lewis Hardin FAIRMONT — Ms. Elveta Lewis Hardin, 90, of Fairmont, passed away Aug. 21, 2015, at Golden Living Center in Lumberton. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Bethesda United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the home. Ms. Hardin was born May 2, 1925, in Robeson County. She was preceded in death by her parents, Worth Ellis Lewis and Vera Parker Lewis; her husband, Ray Hardin; and a son, Ray L. "Shorty" Hardin. Ms. Hardin is survived by two daughters, Betty Pittman (Jimmy) of Fairmont and Susan Barnes (Sammy) of Orrum; five grandchildren, Matt Pittman (Resa), Marcia Blackwell (fiancé, Heath), Janna Edwards (Erik), Jonathan Barnes and Hope Parker (Joey); five great-grandchildren, Zach Pittman, Makenzi Blackwell, Noah Parker, John Peyton Edwards, and Samuel Edwards. Ressie Mae Harris CARRBORO — Mrs. Ressie Mae Harris, 76, of Carrboro, formerly of Fairmont, died Aug. 26, 2015, at her home. The funeral will be 1:30 p.m. Sunday at Mill Branch Baptist Church Fairmont. The visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Saturday at Hills Funeral Home. Hills Funeral Home is providing the service.

Dawn Hill FAIRMONT — Mrs. Dawn Mathis Hill, 66, of Fairmont, passed away Aug. 24, 2015. The visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at Floyd Funeral Services in Fairmont. A private memorial service and burial will follow at a later date. She was preceded in death by her parents, John Mathis and Trissie McLellan Mathis; three brothers, Johnny, Terry, Tommy Mathis; and a grandson, Matthew Tyler Rogers. She is survived by her son, John Hill (Jessica) of Fairmont; a daughter, Kandi Rogers (Richard) of Lumberton; a brother, James Mathis of Greensboro; and five grandchildren, Parker Rogers, Miranda Hill, Macie Huggins, Jonathan Huggins, and Michael Baty. Horne, Jimmy  
Jimmy Horne ST. PAULS — Jimmy Lee Horne, 68, of St. Pauls, entered into eternal rest on Aug. 22, 2015. He was a U.S. Army veteran and worked as a transportation driver. A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. Friday at Saint Pauls Funeral Home. The visitation will also be held at 6 p.m. Friday one hour before the service. Jimmy is survived by his sister, Dorothy Horne of Hope Mills; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Manson and Eva Gray Estep; his brothers, John Horne of California, Sammy Horne of Portsmouth, Va., and Richard Horne of Mud Creek; and a very close friend, Tina Faye Locklear.
