Marvin Lowery LUMBERTON — Mr. Marvin Lowery, 86, of 1994 Deep Branch Road, was born December 18, 1928, and died Friday, May 22, 2015, at his home. He was the son of the late Mr. James & Mrs. Katie Mae Dial Lowery. He was a retired logger and farmer. The funeral will be conducted 3 p.m. Monday, May 25, 2015, at Deep Branch Baptist Church with the Revs: James Hunt and Gary Thompson officiating. Entombment will follow in the Lumbee Memorial Gardens. Surviving are his wife: Mrs. Dora Frances Lowery of the home; nine sons: Mr. James Ray Lowery, Mr. Dennis James Lowery, Mr. Larry Lowery, Mr. Jimmie Lowery, Mr. Terry Lowery, Mr. Carl Lowery, Mr. Donnie Lowery, all of Lumberton, Mr. Chester Lowery of Pembroke and Mr. George A. Lowery of Maxton; three daughters: Mrs. Peggy Lowery Hunt of Rowland, Mrs. Connie Lowery Baker and Mrs. Mary A. Oxendine, both of Lumberton; two brothers: Mr. James Lowery, Jr. of Pembroke and Mr. Melton Lowery of Norfolk, Virginia; 18 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren and a host of relatives. The family will receive friends from 1 to 3 p.m. Monday, May 25, 2014, at Deep Branch Baptist Church. Services entrusted to Locklear & Son Funeral Home. Lowry, Villie  
Villie Lowry DURHAM — Villie "Wee Wee" Lowry, 56, of Durham, formerly of Lumberton, departed his earthly life on May 20, 2015, at Duke University Medical Center after an extended illness due to his construction work-related accident which occurred on March 11, 2001. The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Revels Funeral Home Chapel Pembroke. Burial will follow in the Lowry Cemetery. He was born on Dec. 23, 1958, in Baltimore to Charlie and Verona Chavis Lowry. Villie was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Neal Archie Jr. and Rhodie Lowry; his maternal grandparents, Dannie and Cassie Chavis; his father, Charlie Lowry; a brother, Angelo Lowry; and great-nephews, Kash and Korbon Locklear. He leaves to cherish his memories, his mother, Verona Jackson; two brothers, Melton Lowry of Pembroke and Gregory Lowry and his wife Delores of Lumberton; three sisters, Sandrah Lowry of Pembroke, Cynthia Lowry Chavis and her husband Thomas Mark of Lumberton, and Angela Jackson Flores and her husband Hector of Rocky Mount; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Lucas, Clarence  
Clarence Lucas EAST ISLIP, N.Y. — Clarence Lucas, 69, of 60 Moffitt Blvd., East Islip, N.Y., died May 18, 2015. The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday at Revels Funeral Home Chapel Lumberton. Burial will follow in the Oxendine Cemetery on Rennert Road, in Lumberton. Mr. Lucas was preceded in death by his parents, Mrs. Bertha Lee Lucas and Mr. Watson Lucas; three brothers, Robert Watson Lucas Jr., Thompson Lucas, Henderson Lucas (Luke); and a sister, Elsie Bell. Clarence leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 39 years, Jeanette Bullard Lucas, originally from the Saddletree area; two daughters, Shirley Lynn Clark of East Islip, N.Y., and Janice Marie Muller of Lumberton, N.C.; five grandchildren, Christine Gale and husband Scott of Eagle Mountain, Utah, Vinny Martinez of East Islip, N.Y., Robert Muller, David Muller and Bryan Muller, all of Lumberton, N.C. He also leaves to cherish his memory three sisters, Christine Perry of Maxton, N.C., Velma Mae Hose of Manton, Mich., Peggy Hunt of Maxton, N.C.; a brother, David Lucas Sr., of Brewster, N.Y.; two special nephews, Michael Lucas and David Lucas Jr., who devoted many years of service to their Uncle Clarence, and many more family members and friends who will mourn the loss of Clarence. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Revels Funeral Home in Lumberton, and at other times at the home of his sister-in-law, Mrs. Connie Chavis, 6749 N. Chicken Road, Lumberton.

Maynor, Earldon  
Earldon Maynor LUMBERTON — Mr. Earldon Maynor, 54, of Lumberton, departed his Earthly life on May 6, 2015, at Southeastern Hospice House in Lumberton. He was the son of Zelma Maynor of Fairmont and the late Bonford Maynor . He is survived by a daughter, Tiffany Maynor of Philadelphia; two sons, Earl of California and Greg of Montana; three sisters, Elizabeth Emanuel of Shannon, Barbara Rivera and Connie Edwards of Philadelphia; and two brothers, Bonford Maynor Jr. of Fairmont and James Maynor of Lumberton. A memorial service was held at Southeastern Hospice, the Rev. Doug Campbell officiating. A special thank you to Southeastern Hospice and to all who offered prayers for the family.

John David McNeill LUMBERTON — John David McNeill, 84, of 604 Bowman Road, Lumberton, died May 18, 2015, at Cumberland Nursing and Rehabilitation in Fayetteville. The funeral will be noon Saturday at Hilly Branch Missionary Baptist Church in Lumberton. Burial will follow in Moore's Landing, Lumberton. The viewing will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Friday at L. E. Floyd Funeral Home in Red Springs. The visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at Hilly Branch Church.

Oxendine, Dennis  
Dennis Wayne Oxendine ALBEMARLE — Dennis Wayne Oxendine, 63, of Albemarle, formerly of Fairmont, passed peacefully from this world on May 17, 2015, at home after an extended illness. A memorial will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Anna Baptist Church in Pembroke, Jay Locklear of Stedman, a nephew of Mr. Oxendine, will conduct the service assisted by Mr. Oxendine's cousin, Ronnie Elk of Pembroke. Dennis was born June 27, 1951. He is survived by his sister Sarah Locklear of the home; his mother, Macie Oxendine; his brothers, Johnsie (Gladys) Oxendine, James B. Oxendine of Fairmont; a brother, Marshall Oxendine of Maxton; his sisters, Virginia Caulder of Fairmont, and Lynn (Aremanuel) Brooks of Pembroke; three children, Denise, Christina and William Paul Oxendine; seven grandchildren; five stepchildren; his aunt, Launa Elk; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Dennis was preceded in death by his wife, Betty; his father, Paul L. Oxendine Sr.; a brother, Paul L. Oxendine Jr.; and his sisters, Peggy Hernandez and Doris Oxendine. Dennis was a painter for many years, having been taught by his dad and older brothers. He loved to hunt, fish and ride horses. He and wife Betty were married over 30 years and were very devoted to each other. They were always together. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Stanly County, 960 North First St., Albemarle N.C., 28001.

Karen Pittman LUMBERTON — Karen Morris Pittman, 47, of Lumberton, died on May 24, 2015, at Southeastern Hospice House in Lumberton. She was born in Robeson County on Aug. 4, 1967, to the late William Eugene Morris and Gladys Chapman Morris. She previously worked as an LPN at Robeson Health Care Corporation. She was preceded in death by her father, William Eugene Morris; mother, Gladys Chapman Morris; and a brother, William David Morris. Mrs. Pittman is survived by her husband, Ricky Timothy Pittman; two daughters, Sarah Elizabeth Pittman and Ashley Nicole Pittman of Lumberton; and her nephew, Brandon David Morris of Reidsville. A viewing will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. today at Floyd's Mortuary & Crematory at 809 E. Fifth St. in Lumberton. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Floyd's Memory Gardens, the Rev. Bruce Brumfield officiating.
