FAIRMONT — Billie Dove Lupo, died peacefully on March 28, 2014, at Duke Hospice and Home Care in Durham.
The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Page's Chapel in Fairmont. Internment following at the Lupo family cemetery.
She was born Dec. 12, 1931, in Robeson County to the late Aubrey and Dessie Floyd and lived much of her life in Fairmont. For 18 years, while a resident of Cary, she worked for the North Carolina Department of Revenue, retiring in the late 1980's. Billie Dove found her greatest joy and calling as a wife and as a mother to her six children. Her love for and dedication to her family never wavered.
She was preceded in death by her husband, F.R. Lupo and her son, Kenneth Byron Lupo.
Survivors include her children, Eric Lupo and wife Donna of Raleigh, Rebecca Lupo of Cary, Lesa Henry and husband Jim of Pittsboro, Jackie Lupo and partner Judy Cain of Lexington, Va., and Keith Lupo and wife Amy Roleder of Menlo Park, Calif.; as well as four grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. She is also survived by her two sisters, Rachel Adams of Winter Haven, Fla., and Betty Gale Hayes of Fairmont.
The family will receive friends and relatives from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at Floyd's Funeral Home in Fairmont.

The family would like to express their gratitude for the loving care provided by the staff of Spring Arbor of Durham, especially Cynthia Bridges, the kindness and love of Billie Dove's roommate, Rosa Boulden, and the remarkable compassion and professional skill of the staff at Duke Home Care and Hospice.
