LUMBERTON — Cecily Marie Simpson, 26, of Lumberton, departed this life on Jan. 19, 2014, at her residence.

She was born in Robeson County on Aug. 9, 1987, a daughter of Ira "Joe" and Jody Simpson. She was a member of the Rock Church of God.

The funeral will be 7 p.m. today at The Rock Church of God, Bishop Kenneth D. Locklear , the Revs. Roosevelt Scott and Kary Wilkins officiating. The burial will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Lumbee Memorial Gardens.

She is survived by her parents, Ira "Joe" and Jody Simpson of the home; her children, Paris Ann Simpson, MacKenzie Joe Deese, Carly Ray Deese and Ethan Nicholas Simpson; a very close friend, Charles Ray Deese of Lumberton; two sisters, Kristie Noel Locklear and Sandi Lynn Simpson, both of Lumberton; also two nieces, Elizabeth Locklear and Hannah Locklear and a nephew, Landon Simpson; her paternal grandmother, Barbara Simpson and maternal grandmother, Vera Locklear, both of Lumberton.

She was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, Ira "Jefferson" Simpson, and maternal grandfather, Sandy Locklear; a very special aunt, Florann Roller; and a very special uncle, Bishop Ronald Scott.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. today at The Rock Church of God, West Carthage Road in Lumberton.
