ROWLAND — Mr. Clyde Brayboy, 70, of 6122 Elrod Road, was born May 2, 1944, to the late Mr. William Robert and Mrs. Pearlie Lee Brayboy on the evening of Thursday, May 15, 2014, he began his heavenly journey surrounded by family at home

The funeral will be conducted 3 p.m. Sunday at Pentecostal Church of Christ, the Revs. Kip Woods, Jimmy Hunt, and Jimmy Strickland officiating. Burial will follow in the Brayboy family cemetery.

Mr. Brayboy is survived by his lovely wife, Mrs. Linda Brayboy; his three sons and their wives, Mr. Perry and Mrs. Ginger, Mr. Gerry and Mrs. Selena, and Mr. Terry and Mrs. Deneen Brayboy; six grandchildren, Canaan, Kinston, Bethany, Jacob, Tangie, and Jessica Brayboy. Mr. Brayboy also leaves to cherish his memories with four sisters, Ms. Queen Ester Locklear, Ms. Shirley Oxendine, Ms. Joyce Haywood and Ms. Paulann Dimery; four brothers, Mr. Robert, Mr. Tommy, Mr. Marvin, and Mr. Charles Lee Brayboy; as well as a host of family and friends.

Known to only Mrs. Linda as being a wonderful husband, then to a select few of us as a father, father-in-law, brother, uncle, and an "Awesome Papa," Mr. Brayboy was known by many as a Great man of God. The life he lived and the legacy he leaves behind will always be treasured.

The family will receive family and friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today at Locklear & Son Funeral Home.
