LUMBERTON – Ms. Constance Dortheal "Dot" Fields, 86, of Lumberton, passed away on June 5, 2014, at Southeastern Regional Medical Center in Lumberton.

The funeral will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday at First Baptist Church in Lumberton, Dr. David Elks officiating. Burial will follow in Meadowbrook Cemetery in Lumberton.

She was born in Robeson County on May 11, 1928, to the late Carlos Fields and the late Gladys Stallings Fields.

She was a graduate of Lumberton High School and Kings College in Charlotte, where she received a business degree. Dot was a member of First Baptist Church in Lumberton, where she was very active with the Women's Mission Union and the Ladies Fellowship Class. She worked in many auto dealerships over the years as a comptroller. After retirement, she was employed with McNeill's Jewelers in Lumberton.

She leaves to cherish her memories her two beloved sisters, Hilda Nell Fields of the home, and Sybil Fields Phillips of Fayetteville; a devoted cousin, Vonnie Gay Allen of Lumberton; and many other cousins.

The visitation will be held from 2 to 3 p.m. Sunday at First Baptist Church in Lumberton.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, P.O. Box 938, Lumberton, N.C., 28359.
