PEMBROKE — Mr. James Stanton (Buddy) Hunt, 85, of 606 E. Third St., departed this life on Feb. 9, 2014.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. Friday at Revels Funeral Home Chapel Lumberton, the Revs. James Woods, Bobby Burns and Gary Deese officiating. Entombment, with military honors will follow in the Lumbee Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.
He was born Nov. 26, 1928, in Robeson County to the late Elisha and Bessie Hunt.
Mr. Hunt was preceded in death by his daughter, Betty Faye Hunt; four sisters, Versa May Hunt, Verelie H. Thomas, Regina McCorkle, and Rosemary Pitsenburger.
He is survived by two sons, Donald Ray Hunt and wife Renee Hunt of California, Gary Wayne Hunt and wife Regina Hunt of Rowland; his daughter, Lorna Hunt Kelly of Pembroke; four brothers, Willie A. Hunt of Lumberton, Jr. L. Hunt of Mooresville, Lee Edward Hunt of Rowland, James (Jack) Hunt of Greenville, S.C.; five sisters, Margaret Brown of Jacksonville, Fla., Genice Bowie of Glenburney, Md., Betty Lois Hunt and Edna Sampson of Lumberton, Kathy Oxendine of Fairmont; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Revels Funeral Home Lumberton.
