PEMBROKE — James Frederick Maynor "Freddie", 80, of Pembroke, was born June 8, 1933, and departed this world on April 5, 2014.

The funeral will be held at 6 p.m. today at Mt. Olive Pentecostal Holiness Church of Pembroke. Entombment will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Lumbee Memorial Gardens.

Brother Freddie was a member of Mt. Olive Pentecostal Holiness Church, where he taught Sunday school. He served in the United States Air Force, taught in the Public Schools of Robeson County, and worked as a court counselor in the juvenile division.

He was preceded in death by his parents, the Rev. Roy and Lela Maynor; his wife, Lorraine Maynor; his grandson, Lance Woods; a son-in-law, James Locklear Jr.; two sisters, Louise Locklear and Sandra Maynor Worriax; and a brother, Roy Maynor Jr.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory three daughters, Kathleen Locklear of Pembroke, Vicky Hunt (Billy) of St. Pauls, and Darla Maynor-Shaw (Sammy) of the home; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; three sisters; two brothers; and a host of relatives and friends.

The visitation will be from 5 to 6 p.m. today at Mt. Olive Pentecostal Holiness Church of Pembroke.
