LUMBERTON — Mr. Jimmie Strickland, 83, of 205 Carthage Road, entered into his eternal rest of Jan. 31, 2014, at home surrounded by his loving family.

The funeral will be 1 p.m. Monday at Revels Funeral Home Chapel Lumberton, the Revs. Dr. Michael Cummings and David Hunt officiating. Burial will follow in the Lumbee Memorial Gardens.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jim and Nanoma Strickland; a brother, Claude Strickland; and his sister, Stella Smith.

He leaves to cherish his memories his wife of 63 years. Marcella Strickland of the home; three sons and two daughters, Ronald Strickland of the home, Rickie Strickland of Garner, the Rev. Roger (Regina) Strickland, Patricia (Ralph) Locklear and Susan (Ron) Stueck, all of Lumberton; three brothers and two sisters, Arnold (Bonnie) Strickland, Bobby Strickland, AC (Roselyn) Strickland, Sally (Otis) Hunt, Doris (John) Locklear, all of Lumberton; 16 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and a host of family and friends.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Revels Funeral Home Lumberton.
