LUMBERTON —Mary Manda Hunt, 66, of Lumberton, was born June 11, 1947, and departed this life on Oct. 13, 2013.

The funeral will be 3 p.m. Thursday at Harper's Ferry Baptist Church in Pembroke, the Revs. Donald Bullard, Kelvin Locklear and James Graham officiating.

Mandy was preceded in death by her parents, the late James and Mary Hunt of Fairmont; two brothers, William D. Hunt of Lumberton and Rudolph Jacobs of Fairmont; and a nephew, Cheyenne C. Workman of Red Springs.

She is survived by two daughters to cherish her memories, Candy H. and husband Lyavans Lowry of Pembroke, and Jamescena Carroll Hunt and special friend, Leland Lowery of Lumberton; two sisters, Rosie and husband Billy Ray Hunt of Trinity, and Christine Workman of Red Springs; five grandchildren, Lyavans Tre Lowry, Lavin Hunt Lowry, Michaela Skye Hunt-Dumiao, Trevin Chase Lowry and Harland James Lowery; a special friend of many years, Zelma Hunt; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Mandy was greatly known in her lifetime career as a Lumberton police officer, serving 27 years as a master patrol officer. Mandy's life was that of a public servant, one who would provide a hand in time of need. One of her favorite past times with a lot of interest was that as a member of Pembroke Senior Citizen Club.

Mandy will surely be missed as to her contributions to society, as well as the citizens of Robeson County and the City of Lumberton.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today at Revels Funeral Home Lumberton.
