ROWLAND — Mary Lois Locklear, 72, of 2966 Cabinet Shop Road, was born June 1, 1941, to Douglas and Emily Lowery. She departed this life on Sept. 23, 2013.
The funeral will be 3 p.m. Wednesday at Mt. Hebron Church, the Revs. John David Hunt and Prentis Harris III officiating. Burial will follow in church cemetery.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Ambrose and Virgie Locklear; her parents, Douglas and Emily Lowery; her late husband, Clinton Locklear; a grandson, Brandon Avery Locklear; a daughter-in-law, Tina Locklear; and a brother, Therman Lowery.
She is survived by her children, Clayton (Beverly) Locklear, Jimmy (Ethel) Locklear, both of Rowland, Patsy (Larry) Locklear of Red Springs, Marie (Prentis Jr.) Harris, and Mary Ellen (Phillip) Locklear of Maxton; three sisters Sherlyn (Burley) Hammonds of Lumberton, Lillian Hart of Fayetteville, and Rose Evelyn (Fletcher) Locklear of St. Pauls; and a brother, Douglas Lowery Jr. of Louisiana; 13 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; her husband, Quince Locklear of Pembroke; a special nephew, Jimmy Locklear and niece Jane Andrews; and a host of family and friends.
The family will receive friends 7 to 9 today at Revels Funeral Home Pembroke.
