Roy Locklear Sr.

MAXTON — Mr. Roy W. Locklear Sr., 74, of 337 Diallock Road, Maxton, was born Nov. 12, 1939. He went to be with the Lord on March 28, 2014.

The funeral will be 3 p.m. Wednesday at Elrod Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the Lowery and Beltch Cemetery.

He was the son of the late Mary Cattie Barton Locklear and Johnnie C. "Coot" Locklear.

He was preceded in death by two sisters, Diane Sanderson and Susanne Oxendine; a brother, Homer Locklear; two grandsons, Willie Ray Locklear and DeMarcus Locklear; and a mother-in-law, Lee Anna Beltch.

He is survived by his wife, Annie B. Locklear; three daughters, Ms. Teresa Locklear of the home, Ms. Savannah L. Brayboy (Ricky) and Ms. Aggie Locklear of Pembroke; four sons, Marcus R. Locklear (Eloise), Roy W. Locklear Jr. (Stephanie), both of Pembroke, Jimmy D. Locklear and Nathanial W. Locklear, both of the home; six brothers, Arnold Ray "Bill" Locklear of Lumberton, Johnnie Locklear Jr. of Rowland, Tommie Locklear, Marshall C. Locklear, William F. (Snorton/Babe) Locklear of Pembroke, and Donald R. Locklear of Tar Heel; four sisters, Patsy F. Strickland, Juanita Locklear and Cathie L. Rogers of Pembroke, and Mary R. Locklear of Rowland; 20 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; a special cousin, Ms. Paulette Deese; a special friend, Merle Jacobs; and a special host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

The family will receive friends 7 to 9 p.m. today at Revels Funeral Home Pembroke.
