Tessie Blue

FAIRMONT — The Rev. Tessie Lee Locklear Blue, of 253 Solidarity Drive, was born April 14, 1928, In Bladen County to the late Frank Faulk and Catherine Locklear and was born into eternity on July 31, 2014, at Morrison Manor of Laurinburg, completing her journey of 86 years.

A memorial will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday at Back Swamp Full Gospel Holiness Church, located at 2581 South Chicken Road, Rowland, N.C., 28383.

The Rev. Blue was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James Blue; two sons, Jerry Blue and Joshua Blue; three grandchildren, James Robert Butler, Stephanie Jada Hammonds, and Casie Shamon Blue; and a great-grandchild, Osceola Wihe Hunt.

She is survived by seven sons, Gurney Blue (Carol) of Cary, Lee Frank Blue (Nancy), Tommy Blue and Jimmy Leon Blue of Rowland, Lee Verne Blue and Lee Grant Blue (Teresa) of Fairmont, Timmy Blue (Lisa) of Shannon; five daughters, Earnestine Pierce (Hoyt), Gerlene Hammonds (Tony), Shelia Blue of Rowland, Clementine Butler (Jerry) of Fairmont, and Jennifer Blue Lynch of Laurinburg; a sister, Mary Lee Locklear of Rowland; 32 grandchildren; 58 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren; and a host of relatives and friends.
