Alene Lamb

LUMBERTON — Mrs. Alene S. Lamb, 85, of Lumberton, passed away on June 7, 2014, at Southeastern Hospice House in Lumberton.

The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Floyd Memorial Chapel, the Rev. Johnny Bruce officiating. Entombment will follow in Gardens of Faith Cemetery in Lumberton.

She was born in Columbus County on Jan. 2, 1929, to the late Mayo Simmons and the late Ora Long Simmons.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Palmer Ray Lamb; and her granddaughter, Kimberly Sealey.

Mrs. Lamb is survived by three daughters, Gloria Wilcox and husband John of Lumberton, Brenda Johnson and husband Mike of Hope Mills, and Pam Rogers and husband Danny of Pineville; a brother, Jimmy Simmons of Lumberton; two sisters, Doralyn Stone of Gastonia, and Carolyn Phillips of Lumberton; and two grandchildren, Paul Rogers and Jordan Rogers.

The visitation will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. today at Floyd Mortuary & Crematory Inc., 809 E. Fifth St. in Lumberton.
