LUMBERTON — Brenda Bullock Cox, 72, of Lumberton, went to be with her Savior Jesus Christ on March 21, 2014, at Southeastern Hospice House in Lumberton.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. today at Lumberton First Baptist Church, Dr. David Elks officiating. The burial will be a private family burial.
She was born in Robeson County on March 22, 1941, to the late J.T and Mildred Lovette Bullock. She previously worked for BB&T Bank in Human Resources. She was a proud volunteer for the Pine Knoll Shores Fire & Rescue Squad in the 1980s. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and wife.
She was recently preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, James Walter Cox Jr.
Mrs. Cox is survived by her son, James W. Cox III and wife Pollyanna of Pine Knoll Shores; a daughter, Samantha Cox Oppenheimer and husband Lee of Hilton Head Island, S.C.; her brothers, David Bullock of Lumberton, and Johnny Bullock of Fairmont; and four grandchildren, James Dylan Cox, Jared Thomas Cox, Adam Brandon Oppenheimer and Mark Ryan Oppenheimer.
The visitation was held on March 23, 2014, at Floyd Mortuary & Crematory Inc., 809 E. Fifth St. in Lumberton.
